Safarisjiek’s journey started in the African bush. As a specialist wildlife photographer and television producer, the founder and business owner, Liesl-Carma had the privilege to work at some of Southern Africa’s most prestigious game parks, privately owned game ranches and nature reserves. It is here where she secretly started curating beautiful textures, décor elements, conservation fashion and ‘wild’ ideas in her head.
The initial concept was to combine the safari experience with conservation fashion, safari accessories, design, décor & furniture, which ultimately led to the birth of the brand, Safarisjiek. (The Afrikaans word sjiek is borrowed from the French word chic, which means stylish or elegant.)
Inspired by nature, our philosophy is to communicate an awareness and sense of responsibility towards Africa’s fauna and flora. Our conservation T-shirt range, includes original artwork depicting endangered fauna and flora, while our locally manufactured garments resembles textures, colours, patterns and designs found in nature.
